My heart is to show the beauty of God’s Word through my art, and this Bible verse truly speaks to that. I am creating an 8x8 canvas of a wonky star and the word “shine” to encourage you to be a light in this world! I’m showing you my painting process, how I start most of my paintings, and how to add all of the God-colors to your art. STEP 1:

For most of my artwork, I start by painting my surface black - then I’ll add all of the color.  There’s a lot of symbolism with the black being painted first because there are times when we have sorrow and darkness in our lives. But when we add all the beautiful colors to the black canvas… it creates the backdrop to bring in more depth and more richness. And the colors will shine brighter!
